She has done very well on the ITV News Channel this afternoon. I wonder if we will see other five news presenters like Charlie Stayt and Kirsty Young? Maybe ITV NC will lose people like Chris Rogers and Owen Thomas now for current ITN people?
Could anyone tell me their views on whether London Tonight has got better or worse since the changes and using News Channel presenters?
I think it's really disgraceful. A regional news programme should have a core presenting staff of say 4-6 people. People who are on regularly, in regular slots who are able to build a rapport with the viewer in the region.
London Tonight does not do this. Just because it's based at the ITN building on Grays Inn Road should not mean that everyone and anyone who happens to be passing down the corridor at the time, should be grabbed and dragged into presenting a bulletin. It's lazy production, and off putting for viewers I think because of the lack of familiararity.
I personally like Charlie Stayt [NOT that way] and it will be great to see him on the ITV News Channel.
Something entirely different, does anyone know if there is going to be live news on the soon-to-launch ITV3?
And, also does anyone know what is the point at the end of ITV1 News programmes, on the newswall, why does blocks fly around to make up a clock - what does that supposed to constitute as?

Erm .... the Big Ben clockface - the long-standing symbol of ITN News on ITV 1 !!!

If you haven't realised it's the opening titles going backwards, so the squares form back to the earth and the earth forms back into Big Ben.

Yes -- it's what the closing titles would look like if they were ever shown onscreen. In fact, all of the stings have visuals, but rather than show them properly, they display them on the virtual screen.
It's a disgrace the number of people who get to present london tonight... I've noticed that as Owen Thomas seems to present most weekends (as well as most days) on the news channel that he usually does the london bulletin... he's a "london face" seeing as he always replaces joyce ohaja when she's off. I noticed though that owen's voice gave out on sunday and he was replaced by phil gayle mid bulletin. Maybe that's why we had lucy owen doing london on the weekend.

Jonathan Wills usually does the Saturday bulletins during the football season (and when he's not doing Wimbledon or Olympic coverage). Phil and/or Owen usually do the Sunday bulletins.

Not to mention the fact that Owen was an LNN reporter/presenter before he joined ITN
