Indeed. And would it really take 4 days to get from Washington to London?

I was expecting them to do some on-location presenting for tonights Evening News with Alastair in Washington, Mark Austin in New Orleans, and Nina Hossein in London.

somebody tell Susan Bookbinder that it's Becky Mantin that does the weather and not Becky Martin

Oh, and the clock disappeared around 0910 this morning, the ticker scrolling across the empty space where the clock should be.

How come ITN continuously finishes their 10.30 bulletins at around 11.05? It's not just this week, either - it seems a rare occurence nowadays that ITV News finishes before 11.00. Can't ITV do something to stop ITN overrunning, or (if has to be) update schedules to 5 past the hour?

It's not a case of ITN overrunning, or ITV being able to 'do something about it'. If ITN for some reason were to overrun, they would just come off air at the original end of prog time, whether they were on a story or a presenter was speaking. ITN doesn't set how long their bulletin will be, they are told by the Presentation Schedule folks who work out to the second how long every programme will run for.

ITN doesn't overrun. The bulletin is 35 minutes long, with 5 minutes for regional news included. It should finish at 2305.

Because recently there has been big news practically all the time that requires the bulletin to be extended.

I thought that last nights late ITV News was excellent by the way, anyone who still thinks its an afterthought obviously doesn't watch it

The Lunchtime Saturday bulletin is now a full bulletin with Headlines instead of the usual summary. Lucy Owen is presenting.

Lucy looks great presenting the national news.

Also did you see the promotion featuring Mark Austin and Mary Nightingale for the ITV News at 18:30 beginning next week?

Yes, I just saw that now. A good promo there, getting Mark and Mary to talk to the cameras in preparation for next week.

Yes, that "Mark and Mary" trailer is interesting, showing some images from behind the scenes.

And the newswall in it's green CSO glory.

Great to see ITV Wales's Lucy Owen presenting on the national news this lunchtime. Will she be on at teatime too?

Also great to see former ITV Wales reporter Helen Callaghan reporting.
