I think the headline music was about 5 seconds ahead of the pictures or something. Was very odd.

Sorry to change the subject but this has been bothering me for a while and it may sound a silly question. About six months ago, on the Evening News, Mark (who dropped his pen whilst saying goodbye) and Nina said goodbye at the end of the programme. The finishing music started playing, but instead of walking back, neatly with Nina, Mark bent down and searched on the floor for his pen before standing up again. Why did he do this, as it looked very awkward and messy? Could he not have waited until the cameras had turned off? Again I apologise for the irrelevance but I just wondered if it was intentional for some reason or another..

I did not see the incident in question but to be honest, the only person who could answer this question with any real idea is Mark Austin himself.

No of course it wasn't intentional. It was only about 2 months ago; it was just a silly mistake and Mark decided to pick his pen up. They're not going to get anywhere by intentionally dropping pens!

I missed that. I like that sort of thing happening. I, personally, am not into the newsreader putting on a spurious persona for the duration of the broadcast. There needs to be some sort of liveliness about it all.
