Why do people talk of presenting the Lunchtime News as "demotion"? I doubt she's being paid any less to be honest with you. I'm not a big Nina fan however, I don't like how she just got one of the top gigs straight away, over people like Leyla and Andrea. IMHO they are way better.

Why do people talk of presenting the Lunchtime News as "demotion"?
Ratings wise, and time of day.
It's not really a demotion, just a change, remember John Suchet went from the ITN Early Evening News to the ITV Lunchtime News, but nobody considered it a demotion
They're getting a bit carried away with the red "target" scheme; it was used to cover the Egypt bombings tonight; before 7/7 I doubt this would have been used.
I note this morning with John Nicholson they had some "Breaking News" which was reporting what the Police Chief said on a live interview with Adam Boulton on Sky. The chief said at 10.03 that the police had apologised to the family of the bloke that was killed at Southwell, and ITV had it as Breaking News at 10.12.
Interesting though was that on the subsequent 10.30 round-up of headlines, they even then had a clip from the interview on Sky News with Adam and the officer, complete with Sky's clock, ticker, astons etc. Obviously being on the ITVNC, it had their own DOG & graphics on top - but how many times have ITV blatantly reported whats been on Sky News, and then shown a small clip...? Surely this is promoting the enemy? Obviously they use other channels coverage for football/sport etc, but I've never seen it done across the news channels.
Haven't you ever seen Breakfast with Frost, GMTV's sunday programme or News 24 Sunday on other channels during news reports?
Just watching the ITV NC now - god how dull is Lloyd Bracey?
Also - a real shame that there is no way of seeing who's presenting when like they used to in both the EPG and on the website. That way I'd know when to avoid Lloyd Bracey - maybe James Hatts could contact ITV News and ask them for the presenter rota for the next few weeks?
I wish itv.com/news Would get sorted out....anamations? of the world...squares?? watch bulletins on the site? Watch reports? Its now just dull and sometimes doesnt even work properly. You can even watch Regional news so I dont see why you cant watch National news on the website.
