I notice in the current edition of Broadcast, an article about the London Bombings coverage contains a lot of errors. One point they make is that the BBC went to rolling coverage at 10am with ITV1 starting continuous coverage at 12.30pm!. I hope the ITV News boss writes in next week to point out the error (although it is actually correct in another article a few pages later)

Lots of publications, Broadcast included, keep on quoting the ratings for London Tonight on 7 July, when we all know that there was no regional news at 6pm that day.

I suppose the procedure is automatic, and they quote the figures for the expected timeslot as default.

Indeed, they mention how the 6 got more viewers than ITV's Regional News programmes!
It annoys me every week when Media Guardian report that the ITV London Regional Programme at 7.30pm got say 3m viewers against EastEnders!

It's not automatic, its just bad journalism, as in the same article they mention how well the BBC Regional News did at 7pm!

No but there was at 7.30pm in three regions. London, Meridian, Central.

No usual LN background for the headline summary at 11.55...has it been ditched again?!

Since the new format, where the presenters stand up, I have only seen one time that a women has weared a skirt, which was Felicity Barr, a few weeks ago. All they where is baggy trousers, are they scared of showing their legs?

I suppose its more formal - probably general ITN policy.

On a different note; why dd Nina present the LN today, but Andrea is presenting the evening?

If female newsreaders constantly wore skimpy miniskirts etcetera, it would look like the only reason they have been hired is to sex up programs, which is sometimes true. In an industry where previously men were the kings of the newsdesk, they now have competition from women who will want to show they can compare to a man's job. By wearing trousers, women appear more manly, more authorative, and that they are there to do a job, not just entice their viewers with great legs. After years of women's suffrage, it would appear unacceptable for women to be wearing skimpy clothing against a fully suited man, it would appear almost sexist. Moving on, Chris Ship presenting with Lucy Alexander on the NC this afternoon. How often does Chris present on the NC?

How long has Lucy Alexander been at ITN today? Did she present the morning show, because she is presenting with Felicity at the moment (4pm)
