And he's back on the News Channel as usual this morning, despite having presented three news programmes at 10am, 6pm and 10.30pm yesterday.

That just shows how committed he is, and worthy of the ten thirty.

Must agree about Alastair Stewart. He came across as authorative, yet warm and friendly! Give him the 10:30!

Anywho, would anyone have any captures of "The Briefing" part of the news. It doesn't have to be from last night, just a few different shots would be brilliant. Cheers!

total shame really! i know it isnt possible but they should reconsidder it, mark austin is perfect for the 10:30, becouse people will fall asleep watchin him now, cos he is soooo boring!

I'd also like to see Alastair Stewart anchoring News At Ten Thirty, with Nicholas Owen main cover.
And Andrew Harvey being Mark Austin's main cover on the Evening News.
Or... Mark Austin replaces Alastair on his "Live with..." show.

If this did happen, although it won't, the only problem would be he wouldn't be able to do 'Live with...' anymore. Do you think a show like that could move to the evening? for example 7pm? or wouldn't that work?

If Alastair were to ever go to ITV1 on a permanent basis, John Nicolson would be a great replacement on 'Live With'. He's got a great style.

Jon Nicolson seems to stand in for Angela Rippon an awful lot lately. He is very good IMO. Wondering if I am hearing things but... at the end of Friday's Lunchtime News did Andrea say ''see you in six months?'' This would make sense especially since the day after it was Leyla Daybelge doing the Weekend News. Anybody else hear?

I have just been watchin Bad Girls on ITV1 and during the last advert break, did anyone see the fancy "Coming up" promo onscreen with the small Big Ben face from the titles as part of the aston?

It looked more pro than normal! and in 16:9 aswell!!
