which begs the question, if a backdrop is unsuitable on a news programme at any given time - when is it ever suitable? Bizarre.

Indeed - I was going to say much the same thing. It just proves that the colour scheme is fundamentally flawed.

Noticed how heavily pregnant Andrea is this lunchtime, and this got me thinking who would fill in for her on the LN until Katie returns, and actually who has done each Network programme since the relaunch and therefore a possible replacement.

enough with the fantasy schedules/rotas already

To compare the backgrounds, when they used the normal one last week, they used the proper graphics, and titles actually on the newswall, and my favourtie is when they display the clock, looks fantastic. Whereas the bright building blocks background they dont use any titles on there at all, making the newswall look stupid as it is not being used.

Hey, Would anyone give me a link or send in a picture of a screenshot from the ITV News Channel when breaking news comes in ? and the animation comes on the newswall .

cheers.....also I think maybe a lighter version of the evening/10.30 news squares should be used maybe with a white or light blue background to make that little diffrence ?

Alastair is great on the 10.30, the best of any of the presenters who have fronted the bulletin. Very friendly and welcoming and authoritive too.

If only he would keep his hands still at the desk!!!

Its funny when he did the Lunchtime, the woman presenter (I believe it was Catherwood) was actually taller than the male... usually used to Mark towering over Nina...

Alastair Stewart would be perfect as the permanent presenter of News at Ten Thirty.

I totally agree. I love his catchphrase.... ''And a very good night to you'' with a tint of Yorshire thrown in!
