Last year he did a stint covering for Alastair Stewart on both 'Live with...' and London Tonight.

Hooray!

Great to have the ITV News Channel back in the Meridian region.

Excellent coverage from the ITV Lunchtime News, Alastair in Singapore has been pulling in all the big names following the IOC announcement, Seb Coe, Ken Livingstone, Seb Coe to name but a few. Fantastic news.

This has left the LN overrunning quite severely; at present it is 13:26, around the priod when the headline news would be recapped in London, and still we haven't gone to regional news.

Has Katie left on maternity now? She hasn't been on all week; perhaps Steve and Andrea will be the familiar faces for the next few months.

EDIT: they're not going to regional news! This happened before?!!

I think its poor that ITV didnt go to the regions during the lunchtime news, did it need nearly an hour to cover the main story? They kept repeating themselves all the time with the same things anyway. Rolling Eyes

I cant say im surprised though as ITV dont see the regions as a priority anymore. Rolling Eyes

That was bad, especially that all the regions would have gone through the effort of producing a 13 minute bulletin, which never got used.
