Although the BBC's Huw Edwards expressed interest in a move...ITV wanted to keep the job in-house.

I'm quite surprised by that! I thought Huw Edwards seems very happy with his current top slot at BBC News - surely it's more prestigious than ITV's News at 10.30? It gets more viewers, anyway. Or perhaps he was just hoping to fill the shoes of the highest-paid broadcaster in British TV News.

I couldn't imagine him at ITV, though, he's such a BBC face. He also seems to be gradually taking over David Dimbleby's duties. I wouldn't have thought he'd want to give all that up and go to ITV.

It's all about the money. ITN would be prepared to increase his pay package.

a nice exclusive on the itv evening news tonight as live on the programme ebay announced they would with draw all live 8 tickets from the site.

ebay seems to be having problems when i searched for live 8 tickets it said there were 502 then i refreshed it was492 and then 403 and then back up to 498 what is going on. nearly all the listings on page 1 have silly bids of over 1 million pounds

I notice Border TV's Nick Martin filed a report for the Lunchtime News today. It was about the helicopter crash in New York, and the british couple involved. But they were not from the Border TV region.

So does anyone know if he has left Border and joined ITV News in London. I wouldn't be surprised because he was a high-flier at Border, and an excellent journalist. I hope he hasn't left, he is one of the best at Border.

Perhaps someone can help me out here, about the ITV Morning News. Has it always used a slight variation on the regular National Theme. In the current World Agenda package, a couple of beats are skipped on the main titles and the bongs are different. The 1999 version used a different bed & shorter into titles.

The strange thing, however, about the World Agenda package is sometimes they use the Morning version and sometimes the regular, and sometimes they use the Morning version on the 7am - 7.30am (weekends) slot! Wierd!

Was it like this before?

He'll probably be one of a number of regional reporters used by ITV News nowadays, seeing as they're all now part of the ITV News Group. I saw Phillp Gomm from Anglia (?) reporting on a car crash over the weekend. Simon Harris from London Tonight also reports for the nationals on a regular basis.

Interesting backing on the News Channel at ten. It was the big blue circle that that's used going into the regional news. Also it was in the London Tonight studo. Owen's been on all night, as well as doing the london news.

I'm pretty sure Phil Gomm has left Anglia - he's on the national news practically daily now.

Nice to see Lauren Taylor doing ITV 1 today, but I don't know whether she'll pull it off...

She is a good presenter she has presented in the past on ITV1 I think the last time was about this time last year. I think she suits the newschannel too she as covered in the morning shift occassionally and is very good with banter with the other presenter
