Exactly, and to say ITN was top notch, they was hardly pulling in the viewers on the ITN News channel was they, and Five News went elsewhere. ITV may not be in the lead either, but their audience has deffinatley increased by far since the rename. Forgive me anyway but ITN sounds dated, and so is their endcap.

no offence, but your english language needs a bit of an improvement.

How long has the 'classic' ITN logo been going ?

I'm guessing since 1969 & colour !

I still fail to see why ITN went from this...

The blue and white look worked very well when the studio, graphics etc all matched it. Looked very modern at the time and would still fit in reasonably well now.

Well if channel 4 can have there own name why can't ITV? You wouldn't expect to have "yorkshire heartbeat" or "central crossroads".

ITN made sence when ALL the ITV companys had a share but now its owned, in part, by external companys it really doesn't make sence. It has an ITN endcap what more do you expect?

A bit of context, please! The original ITN News Channel was started from scratch as a very new channel against two established channels with far more money. It couldn't have expected to have "pulled in the viewers" at that time. And you give the impression that ITV News never beats the BBC in ratings on similar programmes, which is simply not true.

I wasnt talking about ITV News, I was talking about the ITV News Channel. So why did ITV News channel virtually treble its audience immediatly as soon as it took over, yet the same money...

Well first of all I'd like to see the figures to back up that claim on audience increases. But even so, it's simply not true to say that it was on "the same money". When the channel was bought out by ITV they did so because they wanted it as part of the ITV group of channels and invested additional money into it!

The ITN logo like that has been going since the 1970's, it's just a few alterations here and there, but is has pratically remained the same.

Why doesn't Nina Hossein work Fridays? Does she do another job, look after a child or something? She must have a brilliant agent she goes to ITN for more money and works less hours!

The same reason why Trevor McDonald, Dermot Murnaghan, Natasha Kaplinsky, Huw Edwards, Anna Ford, Fiona Philips etc etc don't work Fridays. For some reason newsreaders get away with working a four day week.

And of course that's never reflected at all in real life is it ?

Work places are full of part timers.
