is it me or is the news channel background being used on the Calendar's bulletin at the moment

noticed on yesturdays calendar bulliten that the caledar dog has returned and they are now using a blue moving square background like the have on the national news. also news straps have now been animated just like the national ones
looks better than it did when it launched
the name strap animations look like they have been created in 2003 microsoft powerpoint and used THREAD. does anyone else think so. last year i recreated the staps in powerpoint and i think they animate very similar to the calendar ones

An absurd number of News Channel promos played back-to-back in the break just now...
The end of the 10.30 was rather a mess on ITV1 (in London at least) - Trevor was cut off mid-sentence by the Powergen weather sponsorship, then it was back to a stretched ITN endcap, then a blank screen till Becky Mantin appeared. She too was cut off mid-sentence by the end sponsorship.
The start of the late London Tonight bulletin was also messed up, so the timings for tonight's 10.30 seem to have been all over the shop.

Sir Trev handed over to the regions but they didn't pop-up. Instead we all saw a extended version of the ITV News square map with some background music. Eventually it cut to the local newsroom.
Sir Trev then was doing the daily round-up of the newspapers when the Powergen sponsorship popped up and then once finished the ITN Production slate was apparent. The screen was black for 5-10 seconds before Becky Mantin appeared with the national weather forecast.
Predictably Becky got cut off during the forecast for the ending Powergen sponsorship!
I wonder how the ITV News Channel 'coped' with these errors?

In London Joyce introduced herself but didn't continue speaking, fiddled with her earpiece, then we got the spinning cubes for a few seconds before she started the bulletin again from the top.

Indeed just like that in Yorkshire. When you consider the ITV National Weather sponsorship is played out by the network but the actual forecast is from ITN it all makes sense.
ITV News were running late due to the regions starting late, nobody told presentation who ran the sponsorship, cut back to the ITN feed which showed the very end of the news, the black bit where the sponsorship should go followed by half the weather. The weather is therefore running late and is cut off by the sponsorship and everything continues as normal

has anyone got or can get video of the globe made of cubes as it lasted a good 10-15 seconds here in yorkshire
