This may have been mentioned either here or in the 60 page election thread, but in the promo for election night the background of the newsroom will appear to be the ITN atrium - looks very good.
On another note - I said when ITN lost five news they should use the space for a seperate ITV News Channel studio - and I think over the last month during the election campaign this would have really benefitted the station.

So they're just using a bog-standard CSO - or is it a big screen?

The second studio is the Virtual Reality studio, which Alistair Stewart will be using for tonight's election, so i imagine that there are some last minute rehersals. I expect the news channel to remain out of the main studio and 2nd studio until the election coverage, as last minute rehersals will be needed for both studios.

You can really tell that the NC is coming from a different studio as the lighting is incredably bright which makes the crap CSO behind Leyla look dark and dingy.
Can anyone please tell me why they aren't using the second studio tonight?
Thanks,

OK, thanks LONDON.
I see that they must still be doing rehearsals for the election as we speak as Nina was in the virtual studio just now as they went into a break (
). It was well done and most people probably didn't realise.
However, I'm not sure how they did it because the camera zoomed out which I thought they couldn't do if it was virtual or am I totally wrong here?

Can anyone recall what studios ITV News were using at what times on Friday. Particularly in the morning Alistair Stewart seemed to be in a different studio every half an hour. I suppose the logistics of the virtual studio being in use, regional opt outs etc made it very complicated
