ok this is weird, sorry if it's been mentioned... itv news channel is currently in a set that is neither the main one, the one they use whilst the main one is in use, nor the london one. it's completely virtual (by the look of it) and has the old desk from the main studio in it. cameras aren't fixed because it just zoomed out into the break. is this new?

Nope.
It is the studio that they use when the main studio is in use, it's just used more creatively.
Instead of having just a single shot ormaybe two angles, they've recreated the set in graphics and are using it in their Virtual Reality studio.
It's in the lead up to the election, as the main studio is in use for rehersals and it means that programmes like Alastair Stewart and the breakfast slot won't suffer.
Was there any point in them introducing that bloody awful election desk so early in the campaign. It's not as if it actually served any purpose. They never got any more people around it than they would have on the two benches, and it just ruins the aesthetics of the whole studio.
They should have left it for election night only. I'll be glad to see the back of it.
Its good how that studio works, with just a slight tint of green, it will have the same slight tint of what ever is on the newswall, and it makes it looks real, except for cases like your capture. It works most well on the chair arms.
