What exactly happened there? ITV seemed to get their timings wrong and went into a feature about body language in politics, while the headline music rattled on in the background. It crashed out half way out, and Trevor said one or two words before Scotland Today crashed in?

Did the same things happen in other regions, or did Scottish TV just get understandably confused? AFAIK the regional news is triggered automatically, so therefore if the network gets the timing wrong then it'll just crash out.

The same happened in London, as Joyce's voice clashed with Trevor's for a few seconds.

I noticed on the 10.30 tonight there were 5 headlines for the opening; is this usual?

Presumably to reflect the extended running time - an extra 8 minutes till the election.

Also, on the live link to Nick Robinson when the 'LIVE' graphic popped up, 'Location' was next to it - by Nicks next link it had been correced to 'Westminster'.

The same happened here in Central land.

I presume that they were only supposed to show the start of the body language piece to give viewers a teaser, yet they ended up playing too much. Thus when Sir Trevor popped up, he didn't have any time and so the regional's crashed in!

Probably more likely is a late timings change but the opt time wasn't updated so the computers opted the regions at the old time instead of the new one.

I believe the regional news is manually triggered, not automatic.

At the regional headline opt, Channel got a second or so of Kerry Swain (Meridian News) before we cut to Elaine Carver. Channel had two regional headlines and a "I'm Elaine Carver, join me later"... is this usual?

I think the body language bit was meant to be shorter - which was why they kept the newsbed going and then the newsbed stopped (its only about 1 minute long)... Channel again were slow, we got a shot of Kerry at Meridian and then the normal CN titles.

"TV Blunders" finished just after 10.30, and commercials still had to run, this was because the Chelsea Bayern match.

I think "Location" must be the default?

Its done that all of this week because of the Party Political Broadcast after the programme. Tonight the bulletin is also led by Nina.

It seemed odd starting the bulletin in the studio again with Nina with them making a great effort NOT to show the election desk - but I think they got away with it! Great to see Mark Austin still on location - today from Bosworth.

Bosworth reminded me of somewhere.....................

On the News at 10.30 last night, it looks like they had some trouble with desk reflections -

Now you see one...

Is it just me or are these the Gray's Inn Studios... do they often conduct interviews here, it just reminds me of the atrium.

Trevor doesn't seem to be getting on very well with the new desk, he keeps having to lean over...

Yes, it is Grays Inn Road. I think they do quite a few interviews like that out in the atrium.

They really should makle more use of the atrium, it is fairly impressive.
