Shame they can't make sure he's holding his papers the same way round to make the pre-recorded headline sequence less obvious

Why do they always do that on Mark's OBs? I remember them doing that when he was at Westminster last year, and when he was covering the US election. Is it pre-recorded because they need all cameras for the live feed?
London Tonight also have this habit, and Ive noticed Alastair and Katie getting into a particular pose to match how they look on the pre-recorded final shot.

This has been pointed out in the Scotland Today thead, but worth raising here..
It seems like some (if not all) of the regions during the Evening News regional headline recap at the end of the show were unprepared.
Scotland Today apparently cut to someone fiddling with wires, and Anglia just had an empty seat and the studio, then they faded to black before returning to the national feed.
Was this a network-wide problem? Did ITV opt at the wrong time?

Wonder if it was secret option C - a lack of communication about the changes. It was bizarre watching HTV at lunchtime for almost the same reason. The new bulletin was longer, and clearly they were struggling to fill it on their meagre resources. Two ways, chats - you name it, they did it to waste some time. Wierd.

The Opt was a little early tonight at only 6.45, almost 10 minutes before the end of the programme.

I noticed that through the titles and a large proportion of the evening news today, that the sound was 'warbling' ever so slightly - though not on all reports. It was occurring on both analogue and DTT. Any one else notice this?

He said he was in Anglesey tommorow so it looks like he'll be out and about every day until the election.
Was the Election 2005 desk actually seen at all on the Evening News, the only studio based bit I saw was Nina stood at the wall without the desk in view?
With Mark out and about it looks like Nina will be on her own at 3pm all the time now, even working within current shift restrictions it's a pitty they can't juggle it about a bit
