Same here, Its a very good idea, they should concentrate on the 7pm hour a little more aswell because of the people switching over from the Evening News.
Well done ITV NC, a good pairing aswell. However, I'm hoping this isn't just a one off and because of the Pope's health.

So who presented what today? Was Leyla away? I too was impressed with seeing Steve and Felicity at 7. Wonder how far the double heading will go tonight bearing in mind the Pope is set to die very soon - this is where the news channel really could sink or swim - especially if events take a turn for the worse during the itvnc's troublesome hours 10.30pm - 7am!

Chris Rogers and Carrie Frais; and Felicity Barr and Steve Scott have presented from 1pm until now.

Bet the ITV News Channel will have things such as double headed bulletins throughout the evening just in case - then the Pope will hang on until it switches to recorded bulletins!


As for the 7pm hour - hopefully when Trevor quits the 10.30pm bulletin the 7pm hour will be hosted by his replacement (probably Mark Austin)!

I'd say this would be better:
3pm - 4pm hour on the ITV News Channel
Rehearsals from 6pm for the Evening News
Evening News at 6.30pm
8pm - 9pm hour on the ITV News Channel (either single or double)
Rehearsals from 10pm for the News at Ten Thirty
News at Ten Thirty at 10.30pm

I'm very impressed with the coverage on the ITV news channel they have done themselves good and can prove that can cope with breaking news. Feliciy Barr as been presenting on her own from 2130 until the 2230 I presume after the main bulletin Steve Scott will be live unti after Midnight. I wonder whether they would carry on with the morning news presenter been live in the early hours just in case anything happens

Felicity hasn't been in vision at all since 10, and the guest has been on the newsroom camera. Is Felicity in some broomcupboard rather than the 'normal' virtual studio, I wonder?

they won't have been able to get enough cameras into the virtual studio to have guests in the studio, etc.

There are three cameras in the virtual studio (including the overhead one) and they've managed two presenters plus a studio guest before.
