Perhaps they are finally fixing the lights, and they have had to remove part of the walk way to do this.

Now that we have seen that the 2nd studio can be used for 2 presenters and guests, I can't seen any reason why the news channel can't come from there all the time - this would at least allow better presenter schedules. They could do...
6 - 10 / 10 - 12.30 / 1 - 4 / 4 - 6.30 / 7 - 10.30

that seems logical, but wouldn't Alastair Stewart be involved in election rehearsals?

They don't seem to be having guests in the studio this afternoon - they are using the newsroom camera instead. Shame.

So is it the regular 'second studio' [anyone know the proper name for it?] that we are seeing today, just used more creatively?

Or is it studio 1 with a desk plonked in the middle?

What was wrong with the lights ?

It looks very funny, especially with that grey board at the bottom. Looks like part of the studio has been blown up and can only use a part of it, or part of the celing has collapsed . Wonder if it will be fixed by 6.30...

The studio is now back to normal. Plus Nina is leading the Evening News for the first time ever.

Also the front of the desk is lit blue again...

Yeah - there was one after the regional news too. Good to see Nina leading the evening news.
