Carrie Frais on the NC again! I don't mind Carrie, but she is on almost every week. How about different people like David Glencourse from Scottish TV, or Richard Bath and Lady Fiona Armstrong.

I suspect it's because the younger regional presenters are cheaper...
And the younger ones are probably more interested in progressing their careers with a few (long) shifts at ITN than the 'old guard' would be.

An interesting insight from Nick Robinson's column in The Times:
Nick Robinson posted:
[PLEASE NEVER believe for a second that this job is glamorous. At 6am on Tuesday I kissed my family goodbye and headed for the Eurostar to witness George Bush on tour. My producer met me at the Gare du Midi, and hailed a taxi which whisked me to the airport to fly straight back to Blighty. Apparently the Tony & George show is no longer popular at home so the producers cut it from the schedules.

I've only recently recieved access to the ITVNC and noticed yesterday, at 7am, Louisa Preston was presenting with a red jacket on. It appeared to be repeated over until 8am, although it still said 'LIVE WITH LOUSIA PRESTON'. Then when Angela Rippon came on, Louisa was wearing a black jacket... wierd.

And then I swear she went back to the red jacket after Angela had finished! But that was probably another repeat of the 7am - 7:30am

Yes, in the past few months they've taken to doing a live half-hour bulletin on weekend mornings at 7am and repeating it at 7.30.

Presumably it's to allow preparations and rehearsals for Live with Angela Rippon - but it's a bit poor IMO.

Well no not really - who at half past seven on a weekend morning will instinctly switch to a news channel -usually kids watch kids progs, etc.
It will work out more cost effective for them to repeat a half hour bulletin, for gods sake it is only one hour on a sat&sun morning. Even BBC NEWS24 repeats a bulletin when nothing major is happening on a sunday and no one bats an eye lid about that!!

News 24 doesn't repeat any bulletins. Don't know where you got that from.

Well I was under the impression that they did or used to before it relaunched last year.
About last year I was looking at a website tv history sort of page that I found of google - one of the pages was about the BBC Bomb a couple of years back, it said that Maxine Mawhinney stayed on the air an extra two hours where they would have repeated the news

BBC News 24 NEVER repeat bulletins. The only times these have ever happened is when there has been a massive technical fault at TVC. Overnights are simulcasts of BBC News for World that are produced by N24, so these have to be live for the global audience. I believe Sky is the same, providing 24hr live news except for half hourly editions of CBS news twice overnight.

That was under special circumstances, i.e. a bomb exploding outside the BBC! During normal operation, the BBC never repeats any of its news bulletins.

Sky do sometimes run repeats overnight - usually when there's maintenance at Osterley.
