well i take it she must be so freelance, she must work wherever the train takes her (to St. Pancras or to Marylebone), becouse last night she was on the 10:30pm BBC LDN news

I wonder if Louisa Preston is freelance or has stayed on at ITN after Five cruelly dumped ITN five news. She is presenting with Chris "give up in the middle of a sentence" Rogers.

Are you sure? The anno in London said something like "and now the latest news headlines with Lucy Alexander"
I apologise I must be going mad, though you either expect them to say Nicholas Owen or Andrea Catherwood.
Though I noticed she must have had a rush this morning, as she did the 10.55am on ITV1 and then she had to be back on the News Channel for bang on 11.00am to bring the News Summary.

I was shocked to see Lucy Alexander presenting the 10.55am bulletin, but the weird thing was that the main ITV1 announcer said it was Nicholas Owen.

With dominic going to be head of current affairs - ITN must be pleased that it is an ITN man doing it and not someone who they would bring in who might be anti-ITN

What I don't get about ITV1, or indeed, ITV2 and ITV3 is there they very rarely show ITV News trailers. Examples of this could be linked to John Major's appearance on the News Channel with Alastair Stewart. Somebody with that high power [Major, I mean, not Stewart] should easily pull an extra few hundred or thousand viewers to it, if featured in between popular programmes such as 'Coronation Street', 'The Royal', 'Poirot' and 'Cracker', then surely somebody with an interest in it, watches it and gets more viewers for the ITV News Channel.
And, I think it will be a good idea for the Angela Rippon and Alastair Stewart shows to be simulcasted for Channel 4, so people who don't have digital satellite or cable can see it.

Hmmmmmm,
The John Major interviewed was mentioned throughout the day on ITV1 News bulletins. I don't think there is anymore requirement for promotion outside news areas!

And why would C4 - and ITV for that matter - want to do that?
C4 News have very good interviews themselves - and if anything interesting crops up on the ITV News Channel it usually gets coverage on various news programmes anyhow.
As for John Major, it was promoted by Andrea at the end of the 10.55am summary.
