It may have been editorial though, as most of the regional coffeetables don't have blue lamps inside them, they are just grey??

Every region that has them that I have seen have a white light inside them, well it looks white, but so did the national news to me, with a blue tint, but they are definately lit.

The travel updates now use maps for the locations with no cameras:

I personally think that CiTV should have its own news service - CiTV News or cITN - to rival Newsround on CBBC. Anyone else think so?

Talking of that - and going majorly off-topic - but do C4 still air it's kids news service, "First Edition" (I think!). I'm guessing with the changes to the 4 Learning strand it no longer does!

Since the floor has changed from white to a light blue colour the newswall is working much much better.

It seems that the original white floor was reflecting too much of the green newswall due to white reflecting ALL colours of the spectrum whereas a bluer floor will not reflect as much.

First Edition ended a year or two ago, shame really as kids have no other option than Newsround, but First Edition was only ever shown during Schools, never mainstream. Also remember that Nick News also got the chop, and IIRC that was rather well recieved.

A slightly different camera angle for the mid-morning summary:

It has a lot more depth than the tighter shot they usually use for the ITV1 summaries, but you never see that angle for a single presenter shot in the main studio.

I noticed that, it looked much better than the shot they normally use in that slot. it was very convincing as the main the studio.

And that looks supiciously like Nick operating his own autocue, too!

You could tell that it was still a cso background but it would've convinced most non-tv forum people.

It was much nicer to see a wider shot of the fake studio. The only give away was the gradient used for the vertical surface alongside the walkway.

Yeah, I noticed he kept fiddling with the switch on the machine to his left... thought it could be something to do with the autocue?

Looks like the camera is simply physically closer to the presenter, offering a wider field of view of the background.

why did they decide to put out the lights on the desk, on the closing shots it is very dark and well, not plesent to look at!
