Owen just read the classifieds out-of-vision.

Lauren Taylor was the presenter, with Felicity Barr presenting the sport from Athens.

So far today on the NC - Carol Barnes (with the old-style CSO backdrop when I tuned in), Phil Gayle, Owen Thomas and John Nicolson.

We're currently getting the breakfiller.

The signed photo of her on Ebay mentioned on the old ITV News thread finally went for £21 this afternoon. The buyer has bought other pics according to his feedback so it looks like a genuine bid! Cannot understand why someone wanted to pay that much, were they too shy to write in and ask for one for the cost of a stamp?

Looks like Owen is doing a double shift today.

Possibly the reason why Carol Barnes seemed to be on her own this morning and did the news summarys herself.

Owen was also presenting London Today and London Tonight. He's come along way since the Morning News.

Owen is now one of my favourite newscasters on TV. I didnt particularly warm to him instantly but now he's lost a bit of the campness and is VERY controlled - I quite enjoy his news bulletins!

The sports coverage was indeed excellent, but it was lacking slightly in actual news coverage.

So John Nicolson is chairing tomorrow night's John Pilger phone-in at 11pm.

I wonder how many calls they will actually get?

I don't believe this has anything to do with Saturdays ITV Weekend News, and thus should not be in this thread.

They are going to look foolish repeating this one overnight tonight, the headline sequence was completly messed up by Mark Webster, the first headline was not spoken over and the rest all over the place!
