ITV moves regional politics to graveyard slot

UTV will continue to show their regional current affairs output in primetime. They are looking at Monday 8.00pm (replacing the network's Tonight with Trevor MacDonald -- thank God!) with a number of hour-long specials at 9.00pm on Thursdays.

Current affairs, of course, have always scored higher ratings in NI than any other part of the UK.

It's hardly surprising, but still very sad. In London we've now waved goodbye to any decent current affairs programming, what with London Tonight being little more than a pastiche of a regional news programme.
