why did the morning news keep the pre-itv blue look for a while after the rest of the bulletins had changed over? presumably something to do with the PBS bulletin - so was the newsroom studio kept solely for that - or was it used for other things?
when did the morning news start to use the normal itv news studio?
Slightly off-topic, but when did the overnight "News Updates" start and end? They used to have them on the hour, every hour I think - from about 1am though the night.

I might be wrong here, but I think they only stopped doing them every hour when ITV Play began. Now we only have on summary at 4.10.

I don't think they have ended. Admittedly, there aren't as many now (in fact, there may only be one summary) but they still happen. I taped a programme from ITV1 overnight a few months ago and there was a news summary before it with Phil Gayle.

I caught the end of the ITV News on Saturday night I think and at the end the presenter did say that 'There are updates through the night', and it really struck me considering that there's only usually about one if not no updates at all until the Morning News at 5.30am.
ITV Night Time isn't the same now, it's just dominated by two or three slots, ITV Play/Boring old Movie, A Sign Languaged programme and Nightscreen, the viewers aren't there, and considering the fact Play dominates most of the night now, it just seems pointless, the News Headlines just doesn't seem to fit in with it for some reason.
If rumour proves correct and Play does cease to be, then I'd have thought that there'd be even more Nightscreen or the repeat tally to be even higher.

I don't know about every hour, but at least during the first part of this decade there were usually 2 or 3 per night randomly scheduled depending on what programmes were on that night
Due to ITV Play there is only one thesedays. This morning it is at 4.08am

The ITN Morning News used to be a great show, way back when it included the ITN World News, and an hour long. Now it's recycled rubbish and out of date news from the previous evening's late news. A pointless bulletin.
