Having just looked at the Morning News the other day for the first time in ages, I was just wondering why they bother? It's just a repeat of last night's news at 1030.
And on another point... have any of the newsreaders that have presented the programme ever gone on to seriously bigger and better things? The only one I can think of is Owen Thomas who's brightening up CNN.

It gives people who are up at that timethe chance to see the latest stories, and I am guessing it might have something to do with the amount of news ITV have to broadcast a week? (I am probably wrong with that one.)

Isha Sesay also presented the Morning News and then moved to CNN International.

It is quite hard to keep track of who presents the morning news...

Most regular is Phil Gayle formerly of Big Breakfast.
Joyce O Haja is supposed to be the presenter but I have only ever seen her on there once...

I think the next regular on there now is Jon Gibson with his mad looks!
Also Faye Barker has presented it.
The old Days used to be David Cass, Phil Roman, Brenda Rowe, Gwyn Jones, Nazarine Moshiri, Denis Touhy and Owen Thomas!

Don't you mean Jon Gilbert? Laughing He does kinda look like a phsyco.
Also, I think Joyce Ohajah has left ITN as I haven't seen her on the Morning News for months now.

Siân Jones and Steve Gaisford are now regulars on the programme as well.

Aha Yes I meant Jon Gilbert, seeing him On London Tonight at 11pm just is freaky.
He gives a evil look at the camera and is so deadpan

September 1987, I think, as that was when Thames, LWT and a few other companies went 24 hours, but it was Networked by September 1988.

If it was up to ITV I think it would have been axed a very long time ago, but it has to be there to fill up the News quota set by Ofcom. Although they seem to get away with a 5.55am update over Christmas for some reason.

It's not a bad bulletin, the only thing I don't like about it when I watch it is that one day they have the full opening titles and then the next they just start with a short bit of music and straight to the presenter, a bit of continuity would be nice.
