Apparently it was in one of last Sunday's papers, though I don't know which one.

I believe that the baby is due in July so, of course, my congratulations go to Katie and her husband,
(and from a purely selfish point of view I hope she hurries back to work afterwards Smile ).

Personally for me, Nina Hossain is not really a brilliant newsreader. She is good enough, for me, on the ITV News Channel but not on ITV1.

I propose when Trevor McDonald retires, Mark Austin will inevitably go to the 10.30 News, while I won't mind Nicholas Owen being senior stand-in [a bit like John Suchet was on ITV News At Ten].

The Evening News with Bill Neely and Katie Derham. Now, I am beginning to suspect that Bill will become Evening News male anchor, because he has being presenting it more often than the others.
And Katie - while I've been in London - she is very good on London Tonight but I personally think Joyce Ohajah should take her place, for Joyce to build up her effectiveness as an ITV Newsreader.

The hour-long Lunchtime News with Mark Webster and Mary Nightingale. I chose Mark because he is generally good reading the news and it will be a change, him reading the ITV1 news in daytime hours, even though that is not really a credible reason.
Mary will be more suited for the Lunchtime News and could be a Evening News regular.

Thoughts?
