Sorry if this has already been mentioned ~ but do we know if Katie will be leaving London Today/Tonight with the new lunchtime slot?

She will be doing both bulletins.

Thanking you....

Sorry if I have missed something here, but this thread hasn't exactly been confirmed 100% has it. I mean, not even Media Guardian has mentioned the story. There has been no statement from the ITV press office, and my contacts at ITN have heard nothing of it.

What sources apart from the 'research document' and the titbit in the NOTW are there?

Just watched another edition of the Katie and Mark show on Friday's Evening News and have to say...................BRING THIS WOMAN BACK!¬!!!!!!!! She is without doubt fabulous! Very attractive, fantastic screen presence!!! Mark joked with the viewers at the end of the bulletin as he advertised the fact that Katie will present the late news tonight. He said "And you're in luck as Katie will be back at 10.30" She laughed...

I am sooo in favour of Katie coming back to mainstream itv news bulletins. Lets start a petition. Very Happy

Yes, lets start a petition when she is already coming back to mainstream news, by the way of the new hour long lunchtime news Rolling Eyes

I feel they might waste her a bit there, it would have been better to move her to the Evening News, put Nina on the Lunchtime and let Nina present London Tonight too... mind you that might not work very well.

I'm still of the opinion that the new-look Lunchtime news could turn out to be a very interesting program, and whilst it does look as if Katie will be presenting it, I'll only be completely happy once we have seen the ITN press release. (I did skim the Statement of Program Policy for 2005 but didn't spot any mention of presenter line-ups).
