London weather aired as normal during Daybreak with Simon Parkin. Seems they are utilising whoever at Meridian and not having a fixed person to do both regions even if it is temporary.

Are you sure? It was presented by Simon but was the London forecast. Simon had a tie on for London, for Meridian no tie.

With Manali on maternity leave I guess they won't pay out for more weather presenters when they can just get Meridian to do it. London weekend weather has been presented now by Phillipa, Luke, Simon and even. Amanda Piper.

I wonder where Clare is?

Clare Nasir had been covering weekends up until just past the move to the new studio.

Meridian have been covering at least one shift during the weekends since late September with Luke. Simon, Amanda Piper and Philippa Drew featuring. Granada and Central utilise their weather presenters at weekends, so I wouldn't be surprised if a similar arrangement starts here.

Edit: Luke Castiglione also covering for Robin today.

Who on earth compiled the graphics on Toby Sadlers package about the Chelsea referee! A transition of newspaper headlines using text and logos that looked incredibly cheap and sloppy. You could even see the join between the red auto shape and the Sun logo.

So Robin McCallum has been given the chop as part of the redundancy measures being implemented at London Tonight. It's a shame and loss to familiarity for viewers what with the loss of Ben Schotchbrook among others. Now with Lucrezia presenting Daybreak bulletins I was surprised to see we carry on through the day to present London Tonight. With regards to Lucrezia if they are going to make her present more then what will happen to entertainment corespondent, either make her a presenter or keep her as correspondent. ITV London really are in a mess.

I'm sure we'll know the permanent line-up after the re-brand on January 14th, although Martin Stew's role is permanent.

It's not just the line-up, the staff cuts and increased interviews the programme just is a shadow of its former self. Although I have no issue with Martin (he seems down to earth), Robin had a much more eccentric style which on London Tonight was beneficial to liven up the show. It's obvious that Martin was a cheaper and much "fresher" option so Robin has got the boot. The amount of Meridian reports seem to be less but the bulletin is just not the same as what once was.
