The only logic I can see in this move is ITV wanting it's regional bulletins to lose viewers - and hence hope they can lose the regional bulletins down the line.
It's time for OFCOM to stand firm - whether in an analogue age with 2-3 channels or digital with 200 channels, ITV should have no choice but keep it's regional committments.
If they can't, take away their gifted Freeview space, their slots on the EPGs etc. and let someone come in who can!

Presumably without the need to break for adverts or to hand over to the regions the Lunchtime News is actually a little longer, which is good, though Katie and Alastair saying goodbye at five to two makes it feel shorter.
I would still like the national programme to be five minutes longer but otherwise thought the new arrangement OK.
(The only change to this evening's news appeared to be a short commercial break in the middle of London Tonight).

Cymru Today sounds a bit of a hotch-potch mix of the languages. A bit like looking in the side of the road for those slow arafs that everybody's talking about.
No way to speak about the locals

Adverts on CNE too. I seem to recall Central News East had ad breaks, before stopped it a few years ago... anyone remember when? A Wetwang scarecrow for the person who can tell me
Sorry if this has been asked before, but why does the Yorkshire Weather UV report come at the top of the programme, rather than at the end with the rest of weather?

It was a bit messy on Calendar at least. The regional weather was also on it's own, instead of being within the regional news
Despite this they still ran the generic 'weather' sting before it, which is not needed

I thought the Lunchtime News felt much shorter today, as they were off by 1.50pm, but saying that the lead story was on for over five minutes or so.
Granada has kept the Weather inside the News bulletin, probably one of the only few regions to do so. Saying that it's nice to have the Opening titles back on the Lunch and the Late rather than crashing out of ITN.

Yet.
I must have read Jonathan's e-mails in the wrong order.
I'll take the final definitive information from the scheduling team.

I have it on good authority:
"All I know is that there are no plans to drop the 18:50 headline but a look at the run order suggest there is not a headline at 13:30 today"
