Whenever I've been up that way and watched Border I've been convinced that they only have one camera, locked-off in a 2-shot
Tyne Tees certainly have more than one camera -- I was astonished the other day to see a glimpse of a VT clock before the weather on the South edition -- they are *STILL* using the old 70s-style camera-pointed-at-chalkboard VT clocks, despite now having one of Europe's most advanced setups. Gotta love TTTV and their never-ending refusal to comply 100% with what the rest of the world is doing.
Must admit though I agree about the 2 presenter thing -- it only ever worked in the old sexist days where the bloke did the important stuff and the woman mainly did the odd story and the fluff at the end. NE Tonight has sunk like a stone since the departure of Mike Neville.

Well my Look North NE & Cumbria they only have one presenter, which I think is better but Tyne Tees, on both editions have two presenters on each programme. They used to always have single presenter shots, but now they don't, it's always just the shot of both presenters.

She's a cover presenter with no region of her own. She's got about a bit though.

Which ITV region does 'Philippa Drew' come from as weather forecaster? As she was on North East Tonight covering Bob on the weather, and I think its her first time on Tyne Tees.

Interesting. Do we know if she was a fill-in based at YTV, or was she helicoptered directly into Gateshead?

I have a sneaky feeling it was from Gateshead. Because normally on forecasts from Tyne Tees, the presenters are zoomed in to chest and above, and at YTV its zoomed out, showing legs etc.

I take it she was the lady who filled in for Jon Mitchell (Calendar) on the same day?

If she was wearing a red jacket, which looked as though the buttons were going to pop off then yes.
Jonathan Morrell at the end of NET said she borrowed it off Philippa Thomson and she just laughed.

I don't think so. I can't recall seeing anyone out of the ordinary on Calendar last week

Only because we're busy looking at he presenter who's sitting there like a lemon while their co-presenter is talking
The funniest example of that is RTE News : Six One in Ireland. Sharon Nì Bheoláin is the worst at keeping a straight face while Dobbo reads his part of the opening link

if theres two presenters it creates a better flow. More interesting for the viewer as well.

I'll have to check that website, but one day last week (Wed or Thurs I think) Jon Mitchell didn't do the evening forecast... a female presenter was one I hadn't seen before; not Jo Blythe or Kerry Gosney
That said I don't watch Calendar that often.
