Just wondering weather anyone would be in favour for two, 30 minute local news programmes.

First one would be at 4.30pm - 5.00pm then the next would be 10.00pm - 10.30pm.

Its probably rediculous idea, but i like it.

9.25am Judge Judy
10.00am This Morning
12.30pm ITV Lunchtime News
1.30pm Today with Des and Mel
2.30pm The Jeremy Kyle Show
3.25pm CITV
4.30pm Local News Programme
5.00pm The Paul O'Grady Show
6.00pm Family Fourtunes
6.30pm ITV Evening News
7.00pm Emmerdale
7.30pm Coronation Street
8.00pm Local Programme

No. They completely miss their target audience at 4.30, with many still at work. I think 10pm would be too late for a terrestrial broadcast, but if regional programmes were part of the ITV News Channel it would be an ideal time.

You have to run regional news later, when the adult audience will be back from work. Many regions did experiment with a 30 minute late bulletin at some times of year though - I remember Anglia did in the 90s.

i think the itv(insert brand)regions would love to have the gumption to do it....but at 4.30 no 11 year old would rather give up Sabrina or Thats so Raven for - - Tonight/-Tonight /-Today/-Live/-Reports/Calendar(again insert where applicable). And then you have the problem of putting a local cr~p local show on during the peak. Whilst the bEeB would love it.......its the sort of think only UTV would do!

I like your idea, but not the times. I would have a slot thrity minute slot prior to the lunchtime news (which I think should only be half an hour only, with Nick Owen as the lead presenter) but the local progamme should be hosted by one presenter for the afternoon slot, then joined by the other presenter on the six pm slot.

But to be honest, Anglia News (West), which i get doesnt seem to get a lot of big news stories, there not really creative either. Although i still watch it.

8 o clock is a good time for a local news programme in London, because most people get home later than other parts of the country - but it would be total commercial suicide for ITV.

4:30 is a stupid time for local news anywhere - many regions tried daytime type local programmea at 5:10 and none lasted long
