Since I am also one of the few remaining viewers
of CNE, I may be able to help you... any chance of a photo of mystery presenter? Only CNE I can think of with 'L' at the beginning is Louisa James who often does late bulletins, covering for Sameena Ali-Khan. Unless Lisa Foden has returned to CNE again!
Yesterday, I only caught 6pm (with Steve Clamp, Sameena Ali-Khan and special guest presenter Tony Blair); and 10:55pm bulletin with our favourite weather forecaster James Wright.
I note that Dennis Coath has come out of retirement... wonder if it is temporary or a permanent move?
[I]Edit: Just re-read the above post and realised you said his name!!

Only other male regular presenters on CNE I can think of: Gareth Owen, David Chisnall, James Wright, Mark Gough, Mark Lipscombe (very seldom), Tom Parmenter (seldom) and maybe even Dennis Coath since he has re-emerged from retirement this week!!
CNE often nicks presenters who are normally associated with CNW to do the occasional bulletin. Failing that, they get the ITV's very own legendary regional weatherman in

Steve Clamp was on the lunch bully yesterday (25th). So was this presenter on the morning news?

Any reason why Central Toniight East had a short commercial break halfway through the programme? That has not happened for ages....
Is this now going to be a frequent thing-- if so why? Or was it a one off?
Did this commercial break happen with Central West or South too?

Oh right.... thanks for clearing that up

It hasn't 'returned', It'll be a one-off (or actually a two-off) due to the football reducing the number of ad breaks tonight
