Anglia/East of England News Discussion

Another full split for the West tonight, and again with no real cause. So, despite only jokingly suggesting pilots for a full West split previously, maybe they actually are! The West programme also used some edited titles tonight - they cut out a few of the shots to get to the endslate early, allowing them to wipe to a shot of the studio at the climax of the theme. Later on, they then managed to use a short version of the original black and white titles from 2008 at the point they would normally join up with Norwich again! Both programmes were also fairly independent after the point in which they'd usually link up.

Amanda Houston has left Anglia today.

My plans changed and I'm now staying in Stevenage in a couple of weeks. Am I right that may also be pot luck whether it is London or Look East West

Yes, it's another crossover area for both regions.

The 90 second update this evening came from Cambridge but content wise it was West only. Can Cambridge opt without Norwich nowadays or was it possibly an issue in Norwich that was too late and the best solution was to opt Cambridge to all?

Worth noting that the sofa/coffee table remains on the Look East Norwich set post-election, meanwhile Cambridge is still using a full-height desk.

Have Cambridge been using reception furniture or did they have dedicated furniture?

Cambridge's main tweak in recent weeks has been the addition of a TV screen on a stand permanently on set. Previously it has featured during pre-recorded interviews & special additions, however now it appears to the left of the desk and is sometimes used to display images instead of using the big screen on the right wall.

Alice Piper is leaving Anglia this week. So looks like new weather presenters for Anglia as well as Meridian.

I suspect Katherine Nash will be maternity cover for Dani Sinha on the heads and will probably dep for Matt Barbet on 5 News Tonight.

I don't know much about her, bar a couple of Look East bulletins posted on YouTube.
