What a brilliant week it has been watching these old newscasters back on screen again (except Anna Ford, of course), Julia and Martyn were excellent. I liked Gordon and Anna's ITN50 reports, nice to hear the old ITN signature tune!

Who is that newscaster above, alongside Denis Tuohy?

Also, can anyone send me a link to the full version of the old and original ITN signature tune? I will gladly buy several beers or wines for anyone who wants!

Goodness me, he's changed a lot!! Last time I saw him on screen, he had an abundance of curls. I quite like him as a presenter actually.

ISTR he was on for 9/11 with Valerie Sanderson I think - anyway he was exceptional.

Yes - but I don't think Val was on for very long (think Jane Hill was parachuted in). Can't remember if John stayed on, or if he was bigfooted as well.

Yes, according to Amazon. A review on Amazon also states this:

I must admit to purchasing this. That out of the way, I bought this as a nice reminder of shows gone by like Strike It Lucky and the original The Bill theme music. Unfortunately the CD is a massive let down. None of the tunes with the exception of Coronation Street are the original , rather it sounds like all of them have been reproduced on a £50 Kiddies Keyboard. What could have been so much promise has turned into such disappointment.

If that's true about them not being the original themes, then what a rip-off.
