Just seen Selina's interview on the ITV News Channel - and I have to say that I must eat my words - and say that despite having a far shorter period with ITN, her comments and thoughts about her time there were a revelation. Her take on the stories she covered at that time were absolutely fantastic.
Many points she made about today's news and priorities were so spot on - I thought I was talking through her. Great seeing another legend tonight.
Thanks Londoner for the caps again. They sum up very well the distinct differences between now and then - just look at that old studio shot of News at Ten, compared to today's theater of news style. Wow.
I preferred the old style to be honest..............Burnet, bongs and all.
Cheers Londoner. I look forward to your caps of Martyn Lewis tonight.
I saw Mondays and last nights programmes, and I wasn't struck on Selina at all. The messed up her first piece-to-camera, and her style is very antiquated.
But HOW FAB is Julia?!?! My god, bring that woman back! It was *such* a breath of fresh air to see her again! She fitted in wonderfully and the rappor with her and Mark was brilliant.
Get rid of the bimbos like Hossain, and bring back the extremely classy Julia Somerville!

Here here! Julia was fantastic, please, please ITV/ITN let's have much more of her!
Ditto and here! Here! Let's have Julia Somerville back reading the news. If ITN doesn't want her, then I am sure BBC World would love to have her back.
Although I didn't catch all of it, Gordon Honeycombe was on GMTV this morning talking about his time at ITN and TV-AM, in anticipation of his appearance on the Evening News on Thursday. Of the five returning presenters, I believe he's been away from news presenting the longest. His last bulletin was in 1989!

Come one someone.............
I don't think it's a matter of ITN or anybody else not wanting her, but if you heard her interview, she made it abundantly clear she wouldn't want to come back to TV news. As is the case with many of these ex-presenters, they are happy with their new lives, away from broadcasting.
