Looks as though 5 News used the same location in Edinburgh as GMB

Its so sad. Whole thing seems like its kinda lost to me. They had something unique back in the day. to bad it got tossed about by different providers with out a clear vision.

Your correct in saying 'back in the day'. There is no appetite whatsoever for a presenter ' prancing around a newsroom, or standing in front of an OTT news wall. Times have changed, regular viewers don't want this kind of thing anymore. When 5 news was ran by sky, it was full of showbiz trash imo. Back under ITN control, the presentation is back to the 'basics' and is pretty decent now. They have a tight budget, and i guess a new real set isn't high on their priorities. The VR set isn't too bad, and it's a lot better than the previous set they had at sky. I would argue, they do have a vision, they aren't trying to be 'upmarket' and better than they are, e.g the natasha kaplinksy era. I would say their vision is crystal clear, imo.

In a way Bazinga, I'd agree that times have changed, however newsroom backdrops are more common place than ever, and Sky have added a touch of that 'prancing around the newsroom' to Sky News Tonight. The VR set is not terrible, but it's also not great; the semi circular desk in a rectangular set filled with straight lines was the worst decision to it. I preferred the last Sky News produced set, it was small, simple but worked well imo.
