The press conference has been taking place for a while now, and the spokesman from the hospital says that Sharon is 'serious, but stable'.
He also went on to say that he has induced paralysis, but they expect to wake him up in the next 24-48 hours. He refused to say whether he would make a full or partial recovery.
Sharon is in an induced coma, on life support.

quite shocked to see matthew price wearing a black tie in his report about sharon. seems a bit odd that the guidelines permit reporters to outwardly display grief for a rather controversial, far from universally liked figure in a very sensitive conflict.
meanwhile when the old queen mum went, all she got was a dark red tie. whilst a lot of people probably found her irrelevant, i think she was far less controversial.

Was it black or very dark brown?
Can't be sure, Nicky, but on an average television in an averagely lit room, the PERCEPTION was that it was black.
I tend to agree (not surprisingly, for those who know me) with Mr Mercia's comment, above.

Could it not just be that it was a nice tie that happened to be black?

Surely that was Heggessey ruling the roost over the newsroom. Can't correspondants choose whichever clothing they feel appopriate? (After all, it is within the boundaries of "sombre")
