Can anybody on earth explain why Celebrity chef Stein's dog dies should be considered news worthy?

It follows hot on the heels of Midlands Today reporting last week that a couple had been evicted from their council house for not paying their rent and were now living in the corner of a field and stealing water from a nearby farm.

Has anyone got any more examples of un-newsworthy news (other than Diana stuff Wink ) or am I just being a little sensitive.

It is regional news, stuff like this happens all the time, so it helps fill the programme.

Regional news always have items which I wouldnt really consider "news". I guess they can get around it by calling them news magazine programmes!

Quite, but I regard a cat being stuck up a tree more newsworthy than the above! There are plenty of other things that regional news programmes can and do report on; just why be so desperate... especially considering the non-news story of the couple being evicted was the number one news story that evening!

Very well put! Laughing

This is the kind of story you'd expect ITV1 Border to cover, not a national broadcaster.

Pooches die every day, but I don't see any news of ex-Fidos in my area making the local rag.

Coming next: Mrs Slocombe's pussy gets stuck up a tree. Stay tuned for further details! Laughing

"It's a source of puzzlement to me that he never knew how famous he was," Mr Stein said.

He is a dog.

Do you reckon there's an extra option on the menu at his restaurant tonight?
