Back in IRA days, Did programes get interupted for stories

I do recall Jan Leeming several years ago breaking into Val Doonican or something on a Saturday evening to report on a terrorist event. Can't remember which though. Maybe the shooting of the policewoman outside the Libyan embassy???

It was a hell of a long time ago though.
