It doesn't look like anything serious. No reports of any injuries if we exclude the armed man. Was a topic really necessary at this point in time?

Yes it appear thankfully no injured outside the attacker and maybe the officer. Like the Louve and Orly airport incidents.

It looks like it was a single man with a hammer who was shot by armed police. It just appears to be a normal piece of breaking news. With what happened in Manchester and London, it was clear that other people were likely injured or killed. With this, there is no suggestion of any other injuries.

I don't think a new topic is needed.

BFMTV in France are still in rolling news mode with this story.

As soon as the first news of this 'broke' ITN should have called in everyone who works for them and started in depth rolling coverage live on ITV. It's what we expect from our second biggest PSB.... Laughing

Well at least he had the decency to do whatever he did at a time which would be convenient to ITV.

This is going to happen a lot - I feel quite sorry for the next white van man who has a bump on a bridge.

Well it is a major story and it should really need a thread. A man with a hammer was going to kill everyone on the streets of Paris. Lucky that police had shot him straight away. It also proves that terrorists are always trying out new attacks; some of them get away with it, some of them don't.

You don't know this. His first target was a police officer, in an area heavily patrolled by armed officers. If someone does that they should expect not to get any further.

Nobody expects that though.. ? Quite a pathetic remark, really.

You are crediting the attacker with having some intelligence... and indeed some sanity... when repeated evidence suggests that these people have little to none of either.
