Fiona Mitchell is back on RTÉ News this evening. It's a bit of a surprise tbh because I would thought that either Séan Whelan or Dimitri O'Donnell would appear on camera instead. Fiona appeared to be standing right near Ben Brown's live broadcast for BBC News at 6 near London Bridge.
I think Fiona is still based in London and has not taken up a new role back in Dublin as of yet. Séan Whelan is currently in Wales reporting on the British GE. Demitri O’Donnell not likely in London as he still attached to the foreign desk in Dublin and parachuted in to provide cover for Séan.
Thats standard practice when rolling news happens when there is a BBC One bulletin
