Channel 2 Israel (which is a video partner for i24news) has a report on the launch. Naturally, it's all in Hebrew. However, it gives you a sneak preview of titles and set.

I believe Channel 2 is one of the content providers for this new channel. It doesn't have Israeli government funding and I believe the French businessman behind it had a purely Francophone channel called 'Guysen TV' before. Will be interesting to see how it fares. Yes at the moment distribution is a bit patchy, but it looks like they're serious..

It's just the French version on Astra? That's an unusual decision.
I assume that at least Hotbird has the English version.
EDIT: Stardust12 beat me to it. Thanks!
Oh gosh, just noticed that only the french version is available on astra so there goes I24news
.

Initial impressions are that the channel has a 'rough charm' to it. It definitely isn't up there with the big players but it strikes me as a work in progress. There is real potential for it to develop.
I like the clean France24 influences in the set. However, they could probably make a little more of it with more creative camera angles and a bit more use of the newsroom itself. So far, I've only seen it with various newsroom backdrops. However, a French article I read said they will ocassionally have a Med backdrop. (There's a window at one side of the studios. It'll be interesting to see if they'll manage a Tel-Aviv backdrop as well. The position of the building is perfect for a really imposing skyline backdrop.
