Is that the weather screen on the right.

You can't see the weather screen in that picture.

It's much further to the right, out of shot.

How on earth can it possibly look out of place when it's not even in the picture?

I've always got the impression that Wesley Smith has always had a special place in the hearts of CNsouth viewers, far beyond being merely "the long-standing local news anchor".

Did/does this special affection for Wesley apply across the whole CNsouth (as was) area, or was it mainly concentrated to, say, the east of the region only, or even just Oxfordshire, or even solely the Abingdon/city of Oxford type area (or whatever)?????????????

What I'm actually trying to gague here is how much (if at all) those now Wesley-less viewers (i.e. in Herefordshire and north Gloucestershire) are missing Wesley???

Are there any forumers from those counties who would like to give an opinion here, please? Also, regardless of any Wesley withdrawal symptons, how do viewers rate their new ITV regional newses on their own merits ????

I would hope that Herefordshire viewers would find Bob & Jo etc to be likeable, although I wonder wether the programme seems too obsessed with Birmingham and/or the-north-of-the-region (e.g. Staffordshire) for many Herefordshire viewers' liking???

I personally think that CNwest has always been fairly good at mentioning all parts of the region. However, Herefordshire strikes me a largely rural/"backwater-y" county (is that fair comment?). Therefore, it may struggle to generate enough "newsworthy" happenings, to get a decent look in (?).

I get the impression that ITV West (in general) isn't/wasn't even particularly liked in the existing patch, so I can't imagine that the new viewers are particularly impressed?

Whatever could possibly have given you that idea?

Whilst I certainly welcome the fact that those of us in north Gloucestershire can now join the rest of the county in getting ITV West, I have to say that I prefer BBC Points West.

ITV West News has its best presenting team in a long time in Lisa Aziz and Steve Scott. Its the reporters that let them down, with the exception of long-serving Bob Constantine and David Woodland, in my opinion.
