I take it Thames Valley Tonight use Meridian weather presenters?

They have their own presenter, Simon Parkin but if he isn't about then yes they do.

Is he a fully qualified meteorologist?

Are any of ITV's weather presenters?...... Wink

Yes

But only a few, most regions use presenters who work with metorologists. One intresting thing is that Sian Lloyd is ITV's lead weather presenter, yet is one of the presenters and not the metorologists.

According to Wikipedia (!) Jon Mitchell ( Calendar ) is a meteorologist Confused Also Martyn Davies is apparently a meteorologist.

The Hannington output has the same BMI Baby ads, and yes B'rum and E Mids airports are mentioned.

BMI Baby fly from Heathrow, an airport that the whole of Berkshire sits under the flight path for Very Happy

That settles it! ITVplc really are complete *******, then! Evil or Very Mad

Well are they, or is it BMI's advertising agency for not knowing their geography ?

could be rather confusing during digital switch over - when half of the thames valley region will switch in 2011 and the other half a year later. presumably ads for the former central south and meridian north areas are still sold separately, but it will still hamper the likely local public awareness campaign that will no doubt precede the switch.

that is, of course, if itv are still producing local news in a few years time.

More likely that the BMi contract runs for X months, so will continue unchanged until such time as they advertise the contract to sponsor Thames Valley weather

And there was me thinking that Emma Jesson was a veterinary student drop-out Wink I had a feeling Chaz was, she's been doing Central Weather since Sermon on the Mount.

I wonder if TVF's favourite ITV regional weatherman James Wright is a meteorologist too Laughing

I once spoke to a NUJ Father of Chapel for ITV regional news in August 2004. He claimed that when the analogue licences expire for the ITV regions (2008-2012) , there will be no obligation for ITV to produce regional news.

Can anyone confirm this, have Ofcom made ruling on this point in past couple of years?

I notice that Central Lobby has changed to just The Lobby now, so I presume that people who receive the Oxford transmitter still get other Central regional programmes apart from Hancock's Half-Time !

Technical problems again tonight for the second time this week with the opening sequence of Thames Valley Tonight.

Wesley presenting with Stacey Poole for the second time on a friday. Haven't really seen much of Hannah Shellswell at all on TVT. I wonder if she has left?

That's funny because North East Tonight (North) the opening sequence all went wrong.
