Hope this thread is in the correct place. If it's not, theres no need to bite my head off . . .

Noticed Huw is having another week off. Does anyone know if he is involved in another BBC project?

I notice that on the Ten website Huw is supposed to do Mon-Thurs, and Fiona on Fri and Sun. But it now seems they take week about, which I think is better, because therefore there is no ' main ' presenter as such. Whereas in America the main presenter such as Peter Jennings on ABC WNT are heralded even when they are not presenting.

In the right place - but I think the aim of this forum - certainly in the long term - is to move away from generic threads such as this.

Yes, this will inevitably lead to a generic thread regarding presenters from all broadcasting companies. If you have a comment about something, then post it in a thread of its own. That's what this new forum is for.

OK Wink I think out of Huw or Fiona, I prefer Fiona as Huw seems quite bored and not interested in what he is reading. I read he has five kids! Must be a hard working man.

I prefer Fiona too. Huw said he would stamp his own identity and 'ad-lib' on the Ten, so far the bulletin hasn't changed since he took over from Michael Buerk and Peter Sissons.

Another Fiona fan! I can't stand the way Huw can't help but make a point of talking to the crew at the end of the bulletin while we can still see him. Can't he just shut up and let us keep the illusion that he is alone!

I still think Huw is better suited to the 'Six'.

I don't like the style of George Aljazeera, he just doesn't seem to 'connect' with me, if you know what I mean.

One person, his floor manager, I believe, although he could be on talking to the gallery as well. Can't exactly be the most stimulating of conversations I imagine:

"How was my hair?"
"So, how are the kids?"
"Did it go well for you?"

Yeah, I've noticed he always talks to 'someone' at the end of the show. It always seems to be a very short conversation and then he laughs. Maybe he cracks a joke?

Perhaps fictional banter with a wall, to make him seem real...and likeable...

What bulletins did Huw present from the virtual 1993-1999 studio? I just wondered because he couldn't have went from being an occasional newsreader on BBC1 to the main anchor of the Six in 1999 (or did he?).
