Ah, he just mentioned something about having problems with his satellite truck. Doesn't seem like it's a situation that'll improve any time soon.

Hardly surprising, it's not exactly ideal weather for a sat truck!
Phone battery will die soon enough.

If the mobile phone network doesn't die first!

Sky News simulcasting some of the live Fox News pictures.

They normally try and avoid doing that because of Fox News' reputation in the UK!

So I wonder if Newsday will broadcast or if it will go straight to the overnight simulcast....

Piers Morgan has just completed slowed down the CNN coverage. Talking so slowly and his manner is just very laboured. He just seems so disinterested and bored already.

At least Anderson Cooper was adding to the pace of the CNN coverage.

Where does Piers Morgan do his show from, New York or Atlanta?

I've counted at least 4 reporters in Battery Park so far, I've got images of it as being like Monty Python's Whicker Island - just full of reporters walking (or wading) around talking into cameras!

He said New York. He does have a studio in LA I believe as well.

New York - Morgan mentioned they were only a few blocks away from the damaged crane.

Wow, this seems to be getting pretty bad.

Why is Piers Morgan being so thankful and overly flattering of CNN correspondents? I know they're being brave, but it is their job. I mean, they will/should go and leave if a place is too dangerous. Looking at the coverage, some will have to leave soon. It looks frightening with killer winds.

Just kissing the a***s of CNN bosses, no doubt.

'Thank you for your continued excellent reporting' - just unnecessary.

CNN as usual for American news in such events has far too much information on the screen - currently 3 different animations, including a pointlessly tiny looping map, multiple fonts and layers that don't line up. Just looks awful

Pretty much every channel has that tiny map, what information you're actually supposed to get from it I have no idea.

I've been watching CBS2 for quite a while, I notice all of the reporters talk for a few minutes non-stop then sign off with their names, then the anchors keep them on and ask them questions, it is very silly. They have some excellent pictures of the Battery-Brooklyn tunnel filling with water.

The New York Times has a good live blog detailing the latest and answering questions. It's a lot more concise and reliable than the news channels

The Weather Channel (which is a sister channel of NBC) has been providing pretty good coverage all evening, including the use NBC News' pool of reporters.

Bit out of date now, but the ABC World News replay is now airing on the News Channel.
