I think not many people realise how HUGE this event and catastrophe really is. Having watched the news albeit CNN whilst in the US - it's insanely scary to comprehend just how screwed the island is.. I imagine news networks will be there for some time.
ITV News has lost the link to Haiti twice during tonight's bulletin
BBC at TEN was a great show. George anchoring with reports from Matt Price, Frei and others...
This kind of event really highlights why and how anchors are anchors. George for example is not my fave for the SIX, but he came from the field, and if you watch him out there in the field - you totally connect. He's got it all. Tonight's TEN was a great programme, I really enjoyed it.

Agreed. I felt ITV were good as well though. Mark Austin barely spoke due to the technical problems, but they have with them excellent reporters in the forms of Bill Neely and John Irvine.
CNN have been doing excellent coverage since the word go. Really good to use Michael Holmes on Tuesday when it broke to get to see what goes on when breaking news happens. Wolf Blitzer for me is great at doing The Situation Room and that is also a good programme to have when news is breaking. I'm assuing that because Amanpour does her own show now she won't be going to the scene. I thought she would have been one of the first deployed as she is their top correspondent.
It's on (unfortunate) occasions like this when people like Amanpour need to be at the scene. It's what they are best at.
I am currently on vacation with no access to tv whatsoever, so haven't seen any of the coverage at all. Did someone mention elsewhere that Andrew Wilson is in for Sky News? I wonder if JT will also move out.
The BBC News Channel showed a full hour of World News America at midnight. Really very thorough coverage, taking up probably 40-45 minutes of the programme. Matt Frei reported live, with reports from Matthew Price and George Alagiah. It's a shame they don't always show World News America on the News Channel - such a great programme.
I suppose it's only a matter of time before JT rolls-up. Also, during the Hurricane Katrina, didn't News 24 send Jane Hill and Jon Sopel out to the scene? And Emily Maitlis as well?
Who is on the scene for CNNI? (Other than Anderson Cooper).
