And am I allowed to sneak in a radio one (from 1:02, where it switches to London Newstalk)...?
The Newstalk one (here's another version) was pretty good, probably the best thing about the station, but the two themes it replaced (the Talkback one heard on that clip and the LBC Newstalk one) were a lot better, though my memory is tarnished because I really liked the stations it replaced.
Mind you one great classic radio news theme tune is the long standing Jeff Wayne LBC one, a 90's remix of which was played when Newstalk ended a couple of years later:

I still love this Central News theme from 1997....
Also rather fond of Look North (NE&C)'s piano based theme tune and titles from 1997.

If I may add this suggestion.

A truly urban theme without the need of an orchestra and from hearing it again in the below clip. It truly set us apart from the rest.

ITN from 1995 to 1999, the last great tune where the ITN brand was dominant. The set to accompany this was dull as though.
The music that replaced it, as I recall, has been used on other news broadcasts in other parts of the world. I think we had a discussion about it on this very forum some time ago. It was even used in the radio news bulletins that were featured in the Saints Row 2 video game usually after the completion of the main storyline missions.

Believe it or not, I've been trying to find that very cut for years! Thanks so much.
