And then you and lots of others would probably criticise them for copying Sky/ITV.
It's not about copying. I don't feel this copying argument is a particularly valid one - it is inevitable that ideas will be borrowed and developed on by rival channels. It's just something that comes with progress. But I just don't like the square corners. Surely it's a matter of aesthetics more than anything - curves just look better on screen than harsh corners do.
And to clarify my suggestion, it was for the corners to be more gradual and curved, not the whole wall. That still wouldn't be much like ITV's or Sky's.

The new set would be so much more appealing if the screens had a nice gradual curve around.

Natasha didn't do the walk at 3.20. Looked less staged.
Neither did Darren yesterday morning or George last week (Friday I think), so hopefully it's been dropped. The camera pans downwards instead.

Ugh...that walk drives me insane. There is no use to it. Wouldnt a camera sweep or something through the studio be better?

Surprised they didn't use City Hall next door especially as the production company that make The London Politics Show use it a few hours later

Must admit I did like the use of LondON TV's studio for SundayAM - to me it just a more apt of a studio for that type of show! The backdrop, if anything, was perfect.

It wasn't a TV studio. It was an OB from a compony with offices overlooking Tower bridge.
And it did look really good

You may have answered your own question there - it would be difficult to make the two shows look different. Also - the City Hall backdrop isn't as good as the one Sunday AM had

It looks more like a night club. Didn't the national floor have a black protective sheeting on it, until it was peeled off?

From the state of it when it went on air on the first day you wouldn't have thought so! It was filthy and covered in scuff marks.
They said on Newswatch that the fact that they don't have to change sets will save £1 million a year. I say that's worth it.

Yes but don't forget the studio was probably completed by about a week before it went on the air, to give presenters the chance to reherse in there new set. Plus it also means that they will limit the technical problems, by making sure all of the equipment is working well, pleanty of time for the set to get marked.
