So Moira does Sunday AM and the Politics Show bulletins.
Does that mean she is back on the nationals? I am a bit bemused by the spindoctors at the BBC. Has Alistair Campbell joined them??

Err - Moira has done the news bulletins in Sunday AM (and Breakfast with Frost) for years, and she's done the bulletin in The Politics Show for quite a while too. Not sure why this is raising eyebrows - it is the status quo isn't it?

I think the point they are trying to make is that is all she is doing. However we were told that she would appear on saturday bulletins as a presenter. However NickyS has said that she will probably only do the occasional saturday bulletin.

You seem to forget that news programmes aren't all built on press releases. Perhaps she was unavailable, or wasn't scheduled in to do Saturday's bulletin? I wouldn't read too much into it.

It's beginning to take shape now as the frame and screens which provide the backdrop to the virtual set go in. Jeremy Paxman won't have to wear the white gloves though.

Look's worryingly like it'll be the same as the others... is this is the end of a "set" as we know it? Only VR and Screens now?

Is this the same construction as N6 then?

Just wondering, are the Daytime bulletins now presented any different? Do they come from the main national news set?

they come from the national's set, but no "egg" titles anymore, see Tv Newsroom relaunch section

They do. There's a short 2-step choreographed walk at the beginning of the bulletin (looks ridiculous). The graphics have had a refresh, and they use the generic 1/6 backdrop.

Ugh...that walk drives me insane. There is no use to it. Wouldnt a camera sweep or something through the studio be better?

Natasha didn't do the walk at 3.20. Looked less staged.

How long has the Ten O'Clock News preview had the red blinds trailer treatment? I'm guessing it is mocked up by News rather than Presentation as the animation is a bit...odd. It's pointless really because the day/time caption simply says "Coming Up" because the programme name gives it away! They should just have a wide shot or snippet of the titles to end on.

The Ten 'previews' have been going for a while now, certainly pre-relaunch. I think the quality speaks for itself! It would be far better suited closing with a title shot, even the headline wipe would be better than that.

Oh, and I am the only one who can spot a tiny continuity problem with these trailers?

Indeed, looks like another N6 being constructed. Oh dear Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Don't get me wrong, I like the new N6, but let's not have another one just because it makes life easy for the set designers.

I suppose it all depends on how the set is dressed, what is put infront of the screens etc, and how different they try to make the programmes look. But it is beginning to look as though someone has either:

Arrow got a "bung" from Barco for a job-lot of screens, or
Arrow someone spends their nights dreaming about "newswalls" Shocked Shocked Shocked

I really dislike the harsh squareness of the way the newswall screens are set up, in what looks like it's going to be both of these new sets. If you look at any other programme set, news or otherwise, you'll be pretty hard pushed to find anything like a 90 degree angle between walls. And there is a very good reason for this! It looks rubbish on screen! The new set would be so much more appealing if the screens had a nice gradual curve around.
