Perhaps your opinion doesn't matter then since you only watch the programmes on such an irregular basis. I think the general opinion on the forum is that it's an improvement, or at least a starting point.
Blimey, sorry. I din't recognise I had to agree with everyone else.
In all seriousness, I find the new aston designs to be an improvement, although the "news story" graphic shown for the presenter+desk shot looks a bit empty without a clock or something to fill the other "box". However, I believe that my comments are perfectly valid: the studio looks like a (relatively-) low budget stop-gap attempt at a redesign.
will breakfast be in N6 at weekends now considering that they won't have to move from TC7 anymore?
I'm not sure. N6 will be in action all weekend, but will there be people there to change the set around - ie move the desk and sofa? We'll just have to wait and see.

And does anyone else think News 24 looks out of place with their graphics and titles compared to BBC one's glassy style?
They should try without it, plonk the sofa in the middle of the studio space, and for the news summaries just have one of the presenters shot against part of wall. Plus use one of those much better backdrops above.

I was thiking that the other day.
I would agree with you on it. When you break the programme down, the don't really spend much time on the desk nor do they have the abilty to do much such as having guests being interviewed around it. It would make more sence if they took it away.
Or why not revert back to the original 2000 set-up with the presenters at the desk for the first hour, then move to the sofa for the rest of the programme. Or even have them at the desk from 6am till 8am, then have the last hour, with its slightly less newsy agenda, presented from the sofa.

Today they stayed at the desk until 8.30 because of local elections coverage: looked much better that switching between the two. I think 8.00 would be the ideal time to move. That is when they moved originally from 2000 (changed to 7.00 during 2001) They managed with guests at the desk today, I'm sure they could in future.

All they need to do then is change the name to "Breakfast Time" then it will have gone full circle to how it first started in the early 1980's!
The BBC have made the right decision in giving the Ten its own look. I've said it before that it needs to be one programe and not the same as the others.
Of course come the Winter months, presumably the 10 and 6 will both have the same backdrop.
